MythMakers seek to create harmonic experiences, both at the Burn and in our Lives, We have found that a great community tool for this is Don Miguel Ruizā€™s 4 Toltec Agreements. If you havenā€™t read this small, but powerful book, we encourage you to do so before arriving on Playa. (Here is a Link to the Toltec 4 Agreements)

Be impeccable with your word. Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and empowerment.

Don’t make assumptions. Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

Don’t take anything personally. Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

Always do your best. Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self- judgment, self-abuse, and regret.

If you havenā€™t camped with us before, read on to learn how these agreements might play out in our BM Camp. Please reflect on these agreements carefully, as you will be expected to keep your word with us. We want you to choose our camp because these powerful life guidelines are already part of your daily practice, or you are actively embracing them as part of your personal development.

We have found they make for the best burn for you and for your campmates. They also make for a great basis of a peaceful life. And there is a secret code phrase you will need for your application hidden in this section, so be sure you have read all the details šŸ˜‰

We will have the most epic, crazy, fun times. And we will create and build them together! We will hammer rebar in the sun, we will build mead halls and dragon ship/stages.

We set up a village and a Home. Remember that! Your secret code phrase is Warrior Village.

Everyone is expected to help, and, if you haven’t experienced real work before you may be a bit surprised. Take care of yourself, take a break when you need to, stay out of the sun, drink water, and know that we are working with you. This is a great place to learn life skills, please be humble with those working around you and teaching you how to do things.

This is the vibe you are joining, the way we roll and what works for us. If this doesnā€™t resonate with you, thatā€™s cool, there are many other camps and crews. We know you will find that perfect fit! But, for our crew, this is the best way to play. (really it just opens the potential for the most fun and flow)

It makes for Casual Fun, Flow, Acceptance, and Chill Vibesā€¦

We have camp members from all different cultural backgrounds & sexual orientations. But labels are not what we are. We are individuals helping each other and being a tribe. We welcome and respect all choices that don’t harm others or oneā€™s selves.

We are fun, playful and don’t take ourselves too seriously, just a bunch of adults being kids again. Some of the boys may whip it out on call (it’s intended to be silly and funny, not offensive.

Ryan may offer you freshly made pancocks (pancakes in the shape of a penis)

There will be bums, boobies and more. This is freedom, fun and play, not a gawk fest or a place to be a creeper. Respect and Honour are at the source of our play.

We are not super political. We are chill around touchy topics, we don’t vent and judge each other. We are not into outrage culture, we are into deep talks and philosophical discussions.

We are generally an all-accepting crew, we do not support hate or perception shaming. We are generally a little left of center with a few of us farther left and a few rightish.

We support and express paganism and shamanism.

If you have a problem with ritual ceremony and old gods/old ways we really arenā€™t for you. You don’t need to believe in anything, but you do need to be cool with supporting and participating in other people’s ways being practiced as a core offering of our Theme Camp.

Consent, Consent, Consent!

Ask and be clear. We are a kink-friendly, poly-friendly camp. Some of us are old friends, lovers and/or ex-lovers. Just because someone is getting spanky or kissing does not mean you are invited to join. Clear Consent is key. If someone approaches you in a way that is uncomfortable for you, please calmly express that in a kind way. Camp Leads will always support you if you need us!

Burning Man is a Gift Culture, The Gift of Youā€¦

The art of giving and collaboration is part of the magic of Burning Man! Everyone contributes and invests their time and art. Some of us are new and learning and some of us are professionals who have honed our craft for decades. In this new culture emerging we all offer into the creation, and the result is huge!

Together we create amazing, culture-shifting art! Our work and offering is our gift to the community, tribe and burning man. We give this gift freely and without expectation.

We all give our Best to this great experience, and that entitles us to nothing more than the joy of giving and collaborating.

So, Work Hard and Play Hard!

Building a Theme Camp in the Desert Takes Work! No Divas, No Entitlement. We are Warriors and Rock Stars – Not Divas and Sparkle ponies (Maybe the odd sparkle unicorn)

IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTANDā€¦.

While doing your Best, please don’t overextend, and if you do then take responsibility for that action. It can be easy to get carried away and give too much energy. It is ok to step back and take some space and time. It is not ok to act entitled and like you are owed something or that you get special privileges. We are all a team of equals in this together.

Leadership + Respect = Harmonyā€¦

Camp Mythmaker has many roles.  Camp Leads, Team Leads, Workshop Guides, and Support

If you have authority issues this Camp may not be for you. You will be directed and instructed, at times you will be told what to do.

Mostly in a loving, fun, educating way. Sometimes in a bitchy, tired, worked too long in the sun sort of way. Don’t take anything personally. Leaders are trying to help you and everyone learn and have the best time ever, and they are also people who are learning to live their best self forward. Please give them some compassion for all the work they do and how much they put into this (and forgive them if they are tired and bitchy once in a while, they are usually pretty fun, if we do say so)

Possess the attitude of gratitude. We are going on the most amazing adventures.  Be thankful! If you create consistent challenges or bring a negative attitude you may be asked to leave.

This is a safe space and a sacred family. If you consistently buck the system, need energy from the leaders and group, put people down or are disrespectful, you will be asked to meet with Camp Leadership and create an agreement for change. If that agreement is not upheld, you will be asked to leave or not come to Burning Man with us. We are here for fun, flow, gratitude, and empowerment!
